This Colombian Swiss Water Decaf is a blend of coffees from many farms, with coffees changing throughout the year. Colombia offers fresh coffee year-round due to its varied climates and two key harvest seasons. The coffee undergoes washed processing at origin before being shipped to Swiss Water Decaf in Vancouver, Canada, where it is decaffeinated using a 100% chemical-free water process. The resultant coffee is 99.9% caffeine free - a reduction in caffeine of approximately 90%.
Arabica coffee typically contains 1.4-1.6% caffeine by weight and decaffeination can remove most but not all of the caffeine.

The Swiss Water Decaffeination Process

1. Soaking
The raw coffee is soaked to expand the beans in preparation for decaffeination.

2. Green Coffee Extract
The coffee is added to a liquid Green Coffee Extract (GCE). This is pure water + all water soluble solids in coffee, except for caffeine.

3. Diffusion
The imbalance in caffeine between the coffee and the GCE causes caffeine to migrate from the beans to the GCE.

4. Dried and Bagged
When the coffee is 99.9% caffeine free, it is dried and bagged ready for shipping.

We charge £3.45 for UK shipping using Royal Mail's Tracked 48 Service. Shipping is free for orders of £45 and over.
Recyclable Bags
We have carefully selected our bags to be mono material LDPE 4 and they can be recycled. Local recycling services vary across the UK - for the best chance of success drop the used bags at a recycling point
