Our Christmas Half Caf - It's all Kenya. Berries, Raisins and Dark Chocolate give Christmas pudding vibes.

A coffee to perk up your guests after Christmas lunch - but still send them home in the evening for a good nights rest. It's all Kenya, but not as you know it.

Components: DECAF KENYA Nyeri | KENYA North Rift Natural

Variety: Batian, Ruiru-11, SL-28, and SL-34

Process: Washed | Natural

50% DECAF KENYA Nyeri 

A Swiss Water Decaffeinated Kenyan Coffee from the renowned coffee-growing region of Nyeri in central Kenya. This provides the background notes for the blend - smooth walnut and dark choc.

After drying this coffee was shipped to Swiss Water Decaf in Vancouver, Canada, where it is decaffeinated using a 100% chemical-free water process. The resultant coffee is 99.9% caffeine free.

50% KENYA North Rift Natural

A vibrant coffee from Kenya’s North Rift region, unusually processed using the natural method. Intensely sweet and fruity, this coffee gives the high notes for the blend of berries, blackcurrant and dried fruit.

Kenya’s North Rift sits apart from the more familiar coffee regions around Nyeri and Kirinyaga. Here, the highlands of West Pokot rise into cool, windswept plateaus shaped by volcanic soils and a dramatic wet–dry seasonal rhythm. Coffee from this area has traditionally remained small in volume but quietly distinctive in flavour: rich fruit sweetness, structured acidity, and a deeper, darker berry profile than the Kenyan “classic” cup.

The Art of the Blend

These coffees are roasted individually and then combined after roasting. This allows each coffee to be roasted to it's ideal profile, so it can play its part perfectly in the final blend.

Brewing Tip

Amongst the busy Christmas season we've been enjoying keeping it simple and brewing this coffee on the Cafetiere. This is our two person Cafetiere Brew Recipe:

Dose: 30g

Water: 500mL

Grind: Course (28 clicks on Comandante)

Water Temp: 92C

Brew Time: 4:00
